Junior Accountant

Location: Remote (with potential office-based work as needed)

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for managing client accounts, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, processing financial data, and handling client interactions. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a cloud-based practice management system.

The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organised, and technology-savvy, with a strong understanding of financial processes, tax compliance, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Tax Compliance

  • Prepare and review financial data using accounting software.

  • Perform bank reconciliations, data capturing, and categorisation of transactions.

  • Process VAT and PAYE returns in compliance with tax regulations.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and client accounts.

2. Client Engagement & Onboarding

  • Review meeting notes from client consultations and ensure follow-up actions.

  • Invoice clients, monitor payments, and track retainer client billing cycles.

  • Confirm client appointments and assist in onboarding new clients.

  • Provide regular progress updates to clients regarding their financial matters.

3. Workflow & Process Management

  • Use the practice management system for task tracking and client workflow management.

  • Maintain organised records within cloud storage (uploading, categorising, and requesting missing documents).

  • Assign tasks and track progress using internal task management tools.

  • Ensure adherence to strict deadlines for tax filings and compliance submissions.

  • 4. Communication & Client Support

  • Handle client conversations via email and internal communication platforms.

  • Support clients in understanding their tax obligations and financial processes.

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, clarity, and responsiveness in all client interactions.

  • 5. Technology & Continuous Learning

  • Stay up to date with internal employee portals and training courses.

  • Adapt to new software, tools, and automated processes for efficiency.

  • Participate in continuous learning and industry updates to maintain professional knowledge.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience using accounting software and practice management systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in cloud-based storage and financial data management.

  • Strong understanding of VAT, PAYE, and financial statement preparation.

  • Excellent data management and organisational skills.

  • Ability to navigate and learn new technology tools quickly.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and client service skills.

  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and able to manage multiple tasks.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and remotely.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under deadlines.

Virtual Agent/Admin Assistant

We are seeking a proactive, organised, and tech-savvy Virtual Agent/Admin Assistant to join our team and provide virtual administrative support. The role involves handling various tasks, including managing incoming queries from social media, scheduling and coordinating appointments, and supporting teams with communication and organisational duties. The ideal candidate will be highly efficient, comfortable working remotely, and have experience with multiple communication tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming queries from various social media platforms, including WhatsApp, and provide timely responses.

  • Categorise and maintain client information, ensuring data is well-organised and accessible.

  • Handle basic client queries and provide exceptional virtual customer service.

  • Create and manage messaging templates for consistent communication with clients.

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and events, managing calendars and reminders effectively.

  • Prepare and schedule posts for social media platforms.

  • Collaborate with different teams to support administrative processes and projects.

  • Perform data entry tasks, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

  • Assist with digital file organisation, ensuring all documents are properly categorised and easily accessible.

  • Conduct internet research and provide insights or data as required.

  • Manage the use of our communication platforms and project management platforms.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a virtual assistant, administrative assistant, or similar role.

  • Proficient in Google Workspace and other virtual collaboration tools.

  • Comfortable using project management tools and other digital platforms.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism while working remotely.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Tech-savvy, quick to learn and use new software or tools.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional qualifications or certifications in office administration , virtual assistance and accounting is a big bonus.

  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.

  • Ability to work across different time zones, if applicable.
